Within 3 years the cost of solar power generation will be halved in our country

Recently the technology for solar power generation has made great progress and its economics has risen notably. Current cost for solar power are 50% lower than three years ago, while according to National Energy Administration, current price of solar power generation is still 3-4 times higher than price of coal power generation and 50% higher than price of wind power generation. Without considering land cost, the price of solar power generation has fallen to below 1RMB/KW, among which the price of PV power generation has fallen by 0.73RMB. National Energy Administration disclosed that solar energy generation will enter a large-scale diversification application stage in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan Period. First, to speed up the construction of on-grid solar power plant in the west, mainly including Tibet, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, Sinkiang, Yunnan and so on. Second, to push the distributed rooftop solar system of the city, mainly build the solar system on economic development zone and industrial park which own a lot roof area, encourage the users to support their electricity by their own. Third, to popularize the application for solar power generation in 100 new energy demonstration cities and 200 green energy demonstration counties organized and implemented by our country, research and probe the harmonious development of PV power and intelligence electricity grid system to establish a technique and management supporting system for distributed solar power generation. Until 2015, the total capacity of solar power generation will reach about 10GW in our country.
