US-China Green Development Symposium appealed to strengthen cooperation on clean energy

On 10th US-China Green Development Symposium was hold in American capital Washington D.C. The officials and experts who took participate in the symposium appealed to strengthen cooperation on clean energy among the two countries and make an active contribution to sustainable development of human beings society. Yang Zigang, a Chinese Ambassador to America, said in opening speech that the present world’s tendency is the pursuit of green development, low carbon economy, energy conservation and carbon reduction. Green industry serves as an important implement of economic construction and growth point of post crisis era in many countries. The Western countries represented by America are in leading position in the world in the field of green development, which not only have enough funds and advanced technology but also own rich experiences, which is a beneficial reference for developing countries. He Pingzai, the president of International Fund for China’s Environment—one of the symposium hosts, told a reporter from Xinhua News Agency in a interview that both China and United States need to realize the sustainable development through economic transformation. Clean energy has enormous potentials in Sino-US cooperation. Beside continued political support, the industry associations, non-governmental organizations and corporations between the two countries also need to further the cooperation.
