The global PV capacity will reach 130-200GW in 2015

According to the news from European PV Industry Association (EPIA), until 2015 the total Solar PV capacity will reach 130-200GW. According to Global Market Outlook, the current edition of EPIA, global accumulated solar power market will reach 40GW and it increase by 16.6 GW just in 2010. “These data reveal the great potential of PV industry; also reveal that PV industry makes a huge contribution to future energy field. The current capacity of global energy is equal to the total power consumption in some countries such as Greece, Romania and Switzerland.” The EPIA Chairman Ingmar Wilhelm said. Germany held the world NO.1 with 7.4 GW capacities in 2010; Italy was second with 2.3 GW. Although capacity of Czech Republic reached 1.5 GW in 2010, EPIA expressed the situation was very hard to keep up. Other dominant nations in PV industry included Japan (990MW), France (700MW), Belgium (700MW) and Spain (370MW).
