Although the Silicon PV has closed, FraunhoferISE is still immersed in atmosphere of warm in the conference. On April 17th to 20th, the international conference subjected with concept of advance solar cells and modules was held in Freiburg Germany. The conference have gathered 540 scientists from 21 countries, and mainly discussed the silicon technology. The three-day meeting including more than 130 reports and all the members were an active participant in it. “I’m very appreciate this conference idea,” Doctor Arthur Weeber from Dutch Center for Energy Research said, “The atmosphere of conference gives us immeasurable inspiration and encourages scientists to discuss deeply. I firmly believe that this conference marks a new level for the academic exchange of European area. Many “High efficiency” technologies were shown on the Silicon PV conference, all the members devoted themselves to discuss the theme. Doctor Joachim Luther, the President of Solar Energy Research in Singapore, thought the conference pattern is an undoubted success, he said: “Silicon PV is a newly emerging theme conference which provides a vital important display terrace for research results from research institutes and universities. Research exerts decisive influence on PV industry success today and it will still be a major factor on further development of solar energy industry in future.” In view of the considerable attention on this first conference, Silicon PV will be held in different places in Europe. Doctor JefPoortmans, the director of Belgium Research Institute, commented that “The idea of conference is that encouraging scientist to carry out extensive exchanges and participants held many excellent reports.” Leuven where the headquarters of Belgium Research Institute locates will be the host of the second Silicon PV conference which will be held hold in April 2012.
