German news: the PV power generation has exceeded the generation of nuclear for first time

March 28, 2011

According to reports in Germany, the total PV power generation has exceeded the total generation of nuclear for the first time in the 12th week of this year. The total generating capacity of photovoltaic is 17GW, while the nuclear power is 15GW. According to the data from the German Ministry of Environment, the generating capacity of PV in Germany is 1.2 billion kwh which takes up 2% of electricity consumption. The data released by the German Energy Union shows that the electric energy production in Germany is 14 billion kwh in 2010 which accounts for 10.9% of electricity consumption and 9.4% of renewable energy. The voices of the German opponents of nuclear power: Nuclear power station and the Heat power station will eventually come to end! The comments from dieBayernAllianzfürAtomausstieg+Klimaschutz: We can save energy and improve energy obtaining method through a better method, such as expanding the renewable energy , to make the nuclear power station and heat power station finally closed down.. Power Generation Group predicted in 1993 that the proportion of the solar energy, wind energy and the hydroelectric power would not exceed 4% in a long period, but now the renewable energy which is represented by the three parts has accounted for 20% of electricity consumption. This proportion even may reach 50% in 2020. The opponents of nuclear power in Bavaria claimed that the electricity consumption should be totally provided by renewable energy in major cities and regions of Germany in 2030. Obviously, the large-scale use of renewable energy will bring a lot of problems to be solved, such as the intelligent management of power consumption, rebuilding of power grids, efficient batteries etc. By Lijie Su Oviera Solar
