Last month, a research report which released by World Watch Institute located in Washington, United State pointed out that global nuclear energy is heading for a recession, probably permanently.
The report called “nuclear energy after the era of Fukushima” pointed out that total installation capacity of global wind energy, biological energy, power plant of burning rubbish and solar energy have exceeded nuclear energy.
“There is no percentage and necessity in newly-built nuclear equipment, so we don’t need to argue about the nuclear risk.” Amory Lovins of Rocky research laboratory expressed in foreword of this report, “Troubled people and faulty system can be found everywhere in the world.”
“Nuclear energy still can’t surmount two obstacles—competitiveness and demand, even with a 60-year subsidy. Accordingly the nuclear-relevant stories ended.”
Nuclear industry has stepped into decay before the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant Explosion
The report illustrated the development of global nuclear energy from 2010 to 2011 and provided quantitative and qualitative details in all aspects of nuclear industry.
World Watch Institute gave a preliminary response to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant Explosion in the report. However the report also pointed out nuclear industry has already presented chronic decay with a lot of factors, such as uncontrollable cost.
The report found that there are 9 new nuclear reactors built from 2008 to the first quarter of 2011 in the world, while there are 11 nuclear reactors closed down.
